Frequently Asked Questions

  • We, Will and Geri, are the creators at Vintage Modern. As a boutique filmmaking duo, we do everything ourselves. While we may occasionally use associates to help us film, we will usually be the ones filming your wedding and crafting your wedding film to ensure it is made specifically for you.

  • Your Wedding Film is about more than your wedding, it’s your personal love story that captures the heart of who you are as a couple. We use the moments we capture from your wedding day, along with hand-selected music and artistic editing to create your personal Wedding Film. The length and details of your wedding film will vary depending on the events of your day and the amount of hours included in your package.

  • We make sure to record as much audio as possible no matter the package. This includes placing mics on the officiant, groom, bride (if the dress allows for it) and sound booth (if the venue has one). We love it when our couples have their own vows, as it makes for a more personal wedding film. Some couples have even opted for private vows that they say to each other after the first look or recorded separately pre-ceremony.

  • Music sets the mood for the film but should also reflect your style so we absolutely love your input. We have an extensive library of licensed music that we use in our wedding films. Of course, if there is a particular song you would like us to use we can certainly look into the licensing fees for that specific song. These fees can range from $50 to thousands of dollars depending on the popularity of the artist and the song. When picking the right music, we consider the narrative of the film, the mood of the moments, and the personality of the couple. All of these make for the journey of your film.

  • Since we are the ones who will know you and experience your wedding day with you, we are the ones who edit your wedding film. We never outsource our editing so, because of this, our turnaround time can be a bit longer than others. Since we create custom wedding films for each individual couple with great attention to detail, most wedding films are delivered within three to six months depending on your package and our schedule. Of course, if you’re too excited and want your film sooner, we do offer expedited editing for an additional fee (to help cover coffee costs lol). We carefully choose the moments, music, story structure, and overall style based on what we learn about you; and those details take time. But if we happen to finish sooner than expected, we’ll send your film to you the moment it’s completed and ready to view and share.

  • You’ll receive an email back from us with a brochure of our packages for you to review. We can schedule a call or video chat to introduce ourselves and answer any questions you have. After you select your package and add-ons, we will then send you a customized proposal which will include a digital contract for you to look over and sign as well as a link to pay the booking fee to reserve your date. We require 50% up front as the booking fee to secure your date with the remaining balance due 30 days before the wedding date.

Since we’ll be spending your wedding day together, we always make sure to meet (via phone or video chat) with each and every couple to get to know you better and discuss the details. Typically this is done no later than 30 days prior to your wedding day or when your itinerary is finalized. We also make ourselves available for additional meetings at any point in the process.
