How to Make Sure Your Wedding Details are perfectly captured

Sometimes the tiny details of your wedding are overlooked, but these details really help us tell a more complete story of your wedding. We want to give you some advice for how you could help your wedding videographer be more prepared to get the perfect detail shots.

Gather Your Details

Take some time to think about all of the details you want captured. Having them gathered in one place ready for your videographer before we arrive will help us spend less time searching for things and more time filming. You could have one of your bridesmaids to keep it all together, or you could even pack it up yourself before the wedding day. That way when we get there, we can get started right away without having to bother you to help locate everything. If you’re unsure, here are some of our favorite details to shoot!

Your Wedding Dress

We often like to start with your wedding dress. Your videographer will need some space to be able capture your dress so be prepared for them to move things around a bit to get the perfect shot. We always recommend having a special hanger for your dress that you like. This can be anything from a custom carved wooden hanger to a simple white hanger. Just try to avoid wire hangers or any hanger you don’t want showing in your wedding dress details.

Wedding Stationary

Your wedding stationary is a nice detail when telling the story of your wedding. This include save-the-dates, invitations, R.S.V.P cards, envelopes, programs, basically anything in writing that pertains to your wedding.

The Wedding Rings

We always want to capture all three rings. The engagement ring, the bride’s wedding ring, and the groom’s wedding ring. These are usually the hardest to track down (hint hint), but knowing ahead of time that we will need them will help keep things moving along!

Your Accessories

We like to film of all of your accessories - your earrings, necklace, bracelet, veil, bridal shoes -anything unique that you are wearing that day. This can also include your perfume, garter, and even special heirlooms. The more details the better!

Bouquet / Flowers

Having the bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, and bridal party bouquets available lets us capture detailed footage of the flowers. Sometimes the flowers won’t be delivered this early, but any time they are, we want to capture them before the day begins! Having your florist provide some loose flowers and greenery is helpful when styling all of your details.

The Groom’s Details

Of course, let’s not forget about the groom! We need his details too. His tie, cufflinks, watch, cologne, or anything else special that he might be wearing! If we’re capturing him getting ready, we can grab those shots while we’re with him.

Hopefully these tips help you know what to expect and how you can help your videographer get the best details possible. Feeling prepared on your wedding day can help you focus on living in the moment!
